In a nutshell
Science in Frascati is not only for specialists. Every September the town takes part in European Researchers' Night, organised here by Frascati Scienza, and ESA brings the Earth observation community together for its Φ-week. Villa Mondragone hosts scientific workshops, and the laboratories and observatories open their doors to visitors.
We describe the events that come back regularly, without fixed dates – the organisers announce them each year.
Frascati Scienza and European Researchers' Night
European Researchers' Night is a Europe-wide public event funded by the European Union's Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. It takes place every year, typically on the last Friday of September, to bring researchers closer to the public. In Frascati and in partner cities across Italy it is organised by the association Frascati Scienza, together with its Week of Science (Settimana della Scienza) in the days before the Night. Organiser: Frascati Scienza.
ESA Earth Observation Φ-week
ESA's Φ-week, held in Frascati, is devoted to open science in Earth observation and to ESA's FutureEO programme. It is linked to ESA's Φ-lab, which aims to identify, support and scale bold Earth observation ideas. Organiser: ESA.
Villa Mondragone
The University of Rome Tor Vergata runs Villa Mondragone as its event and congress centre, and hosts scientific workshops and conferences there. It is the villa where the Gregorian calendar reform was promulgated. Venue: Villa Mondragone.
